Emergencies can happen anywhere—even during a morning jog or a family day out. At Carry Hope 2025, organised by the Rare Disorders Society Singapore (RDSS), we were delighted to equip individuals with essential lifesaving skills.

Participants of all ages engaged in hands-on demonstrations, learning how to recognise emergency warning signs and respond effectively. From infant CPR and choking first aid to adult CPR, attendees gained practical experience using manikins and received expert guidance on early intervention. It was an opportunity to build confidence in responding to real-life emergencies, whether at home, in the workplace, or in public spaces.

Would you know what to do if someone collapsed during a run? Our Chief Instructor took the stage to share crucial first aid tips for runner-related emergencies. From recognising heat injuries to responding to sudden collapses, the demonstration provided practical insights to help bystanders take immediate and effective action. The session also covered how to assist a choking individual—one of the most common yet preventable emergencies.

Every skill learned brings us closer to a society where more people are prepared to respond in times of need. Together, we are one step closer to building a community that is ready to step up and make a difference.
